Connecting is one of our three main pillars of service and at the core of who we are as an organization. At TCRMI, we focus on connecting Veterans and First Responders through Camaraderie Connection events that include, but are not limited to, retreats, outdoor activities, seminars, mentorship, training and weekly CamaraderieCoffee Club conversations both virtual an in person.
Supporting one another through tough times is never so important as when away from family in a foreign land or something happens at home and the military member or first responder is away. Following a life long or short stint of service, many times this camaraderie is lost in retirement, separation, or simply at the end of a tour of duty. At TCRMI we fully understand this and intend on bringing teammates, friends, mentors, and new acquaintances together into a brother/sisterhood of love and support.
Long after the last salute, final watch, and/or traumatic event, the feelings, emotions, and heartaches are still very real to many that are left behind. It's during these tough times we commit to making aftercare just as important as getting and receiving care. Unfortunately, there is not the same emphasis on this with funding or otherwise. However, maintaining health and growth are sometimes a challenge to many as demonstrated many times over with relapses and even suicides. We collectively need to end this; we need your help; we will overcome!!
- Sat, Jan 0122 Book ChallengeWe believe that information and connection are two effective ways to break the negative stigma surrounding mental health. This reading challenge is designed to advance both pillars. Let's spend the year getting smarter and stronger TOGETHER.
